Adult Learn to Row courses are run by our sister club, Weyfarers, who have boats which are more suitable for beginners than our racing boats. The courses last four weeks with two sessions per week. The next course starts in June 2008.
If you wish to carry on rowing at the end of the course you can join Weyfarers and take part in their regular sessions where you will be able to improve your technique and fitness. These sessions are on a "turn up and row" basis, with crews made up on the day, but always under the supervision of a coach or experienced rower.
If you would like to try racing, our squad coaches will assess you and if you meet their criteria you can join a novice crew. You will be expected to attend every session with the crew, and the training will be more intensive than with Weyfarers, however you will hopefully have the satisfaction of winning a "pot" or two.
Beginners sessions are held every Saturday and Sunday morning at 10 a.m., however we try to make sure that we have a group of beginners starting together so please contact Clive Capel to find out when the next intake will be.
