In 1997, Dave Grayston used a surveyor's wheel to measure the distance between 46 different landmarks on the Shepperton-Sunbury reach (2.8 miles). Some landmarks may now be obsolete, but the data is useful for determining where to stop and start fixed pieces of work. |
